We’ve Been Featured on Carats & Cake: A Refined Celebration at Sunstone Winery

We’re incredibly honored to share that Sarah C. Brown Designs has been featured on Carats & Cake—a leading voice in luxury wedding inspiration. This editorial, set against the stunning backdrop of Sunstone Winery in Santa Ynez, brought to life a romantic and fashion-forward take on timeless wedding design.

Nestled in the heart of California’s wine country, Sunstone Winery weddings offer an idyllic blend of European architecture, vineyard views, and rich, natural textures. It was the perfect setting for this ethereal shoot that married old-world elegance with modern detail.

The creative direction was all about restraint and refinement. We wanted each moment—from ceremony to reception—to feel layered, thoughtful, and intentional. The ceremony florals were lush yet organic, grounding the couple in soft green textures and timeless white blooms. 

But it was the reception design where the vision truly unfolded—unexpectedly. Originally planned for an outdoor setting, a sudden shift in weather meant a last-minute pivot indoors. Thanks to our team’s quick thinking and design agility, we were able to completely reimagine the space on the spot. The result? An intimate, candlelit reception layered with elegance and texture. Flickering candlelight danced across softly draped tables, while strands of pearls, raw oysters, and pleated satin were woven into the tablescape, forming a textural feast that whispered rather than shouted. 

We embraced a mood of quiet luxury—designing for the couple who finds beauty in detail, symbolism, and subtle opulence. From a couture bouquet of cascading florals and pearls to heirloom-inspired accessories, every design moment carried a sense of depth and romance.

This editorial is for the couple who dreams of a luxury wedding in Santa Ynez, one that feels cinematic yet deeply personal. Being featured by Carats & Cake is a true honor, and we’re grateful to the entire creative team who helped bring this vision to life.
